CANA Health Centre is a non-profit organization that is fully recognized by the Kenyan government. Unfortunately, the amount of funding received from the government varies greatly in response to changes in social policy or administrative hierarchy. Even with the government's support, a large portion of CANA's funding still relies on private donations.

CANA provides health-related consultations, treatments and medications free of charge to HIV positive patients, tuberculosis patients, orphans or those who simply cannot afford the costs. For those who can afford the medications, CANA only charges 20% of the regular price. This alleviates the financial burden on the slum residents and encourages them to continue their critical treatment at the CANA Health Centre.
